For the second winter hiking trip I decided to go to the same river I went couple weeks ago, but a bit further down stream to a more familiar access spot this time. The hike was much easier but also much longer too. Weather has been warming up for the last week or so, and it wasn’t clear if clear skies gonna make fishing worse or better. All kinds of flowers blooming, birds singing and all sorts of insects chirping felt like the Spring is just around the corner. It as definitely welcomed after all this rain we had. On the fishing front it wasn’t that great to be honest. Got a few decent size resident fish, which on some occasions even decided to take indicator instead of the nymphs I was drifting past them. But couldn’t really find any spawners, they probably just moved back to the main river or even the lake or they haven’t come up this in the system this year. Nevertheless a great trip. I just can’t get enough of this little stream and can’t wait for the next year to come back.
