After having a doughnut chasing trout in the Blue Mountains I decided to give a crack on an early season bass and this way redeem myself. And what an awesome day it turned out to be. Spend the first half of the day casting bass vampire fly at all kinds of structures and not having a touch, I thought I might end up with a second doughnut in a row. But in the afternoon something changed in the weather – the wind disappeared, some clouds rolled in and the air suddenly became humid. I decided to change tactic and put a popper on and with a first cast I got a hit and landed my first bass of the season. Then followed by a few missed shots and couple of fish that made it to the net I was happy to call it a day. Some photos below to summarise this session.
